Spring program for boys in 3rd & 4th grades
Goals:
• Reinforce fundamentals of the game learned in Scouts
• Introduce basic offensive and defensive concepts:
- Basic offensive sets in 7v7 format
- Basic offensive motion
- Basic defensive sets in 7v7 format
- Basic defensive slides
- Clears & rides
Mid-April until early-June
Practices/Games:
• Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:00-7:30PM, and Saturday mornings from 10:30AM-12:00PM
• In the event that we have games scheduled for Saturdays, we will not have practice
• Home field: Murray Street Field
$130 Program fee includes:
• Capital District Youth Lacrosse League (CDYLL) dues
• GF Lacrosse reversible practice jersey
• GF Lacrosse helmet decals
• GF Lacrosse shirt
• Lacrosse stick*
• Coaches
• Field spaceEquipment**:
• Please note that equipment color is not essential. The requested equipment colors listed below are for new players who do not have equipment or existing players who need new equipment.
• The following protective equipment is required*:
- Helmet (RED Cascade CLH2 with BLACK visor and chin, if new)
- Elbow Pads (BLACK, if new)
- Gloves (BLACK, if new)
- Shoulder Pads
- Athletic Supporter w/ Cup
- Mouthpiece
- Lacrosse/Football/Soccer Cleats (BLACK, RED, or WHITE)
* If a player already has two (2) lacrosse sticks, we will not issue him another one and instead we will deduct $20 from the cost of the program fee.
** Equipment is a separate cost from our Program Fee, but is available through our supplier, Breakaway Lacrosse in Latham, NY at an excellent discount.
